The Business Growth Director role offers an exciting opportunity for you to join Intend and help to build on this existing success with the potential of owning a share in the business, based on growth targets.
As Business Growth Director, your principal focus will be on generating new business and ensuring that we have the right resources to realise our ambitions. You will also play a role in overseeing our operational activities and ensuring that we maintain our reputation for first class business support.

Objectives of the Role:
Increased client base in Scotland and wider UK market (move beyond SMEs to focus on medium-large corporates and national third sector organisations)
Enable Managing Director to step back from day-to-day running of the business
Grow the profitability of the business
Key management and operational responsibilities include:
- Develop business and marketing strategies with Managing Director
- Pro-actively identify new business opportunities in the UK in collaboration with existing stakeholders;
- Develop proposals for prospective clients
- Work in collaboration with the Managing Director to drive commercial strategy/adapt business model
- Identify operational efficiencies
Client-facing work
- You may have the opportunity to deliver procurement and/or business development consultancy to a portfolio of key accounts, depending on your existing skills and knowledge. Longer term, the focus will be strongly on developing the business.
- There may also be opportunities to provide tendering/consultancy support to our Intend BV European operations based in the Netherlands.
People Management and Leadership
- Ensuring the business has the appropriate resources to deliver the strategy
- Developing our talent (with MD)
- Maintaining Intend’s reputation for excellent business support and advice
- Financial and Contract management (supporting our Business Administrator)
- Developing and maintaining good relationships with all stakeholders to ensure business continuity and smooth running of operations
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Evidence of recent business growth achievement and commercial strategy delivery
- 5-10 years’ experience of Scottish/UK procurement environment would be advantageous or extensive business consultancy experience
- Previous people management responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible working
The nature of our business requires a very flexible approach in order to meet client deadlines, hence our reliance on our pool of freelance procurement experts to ensure availability of support.
We are open to different options for the Business Growth Director role whether that be on an employed or consultancy basis. The end goal is that you take a share of the ownership and/or the profit of the business. This need not be a full time commitment. We are willing to structure the right deal for you and for the business if you are the right person for the role!
Location
Intend’s office is currently in Stirling but the team works virtually across the UK.

Remuneration package
We will develop a package which is attractive to you and affordable for the business based on ambitious targets. Initially, if joining the business on an employed basis the package is likely to be in the region of £40,000 (not full time).
